Memorial day is just around the corner and I want to share a refreshing summer salad to go with weekend barbecues. I love the unique taste of blood orange and this salad uses both the blood orange fruit as well as the juice for the vinaigrette. Never used blood orange in a recipe before? Now’s your chance.

It amazing how fast 2011 has passing by so far, just with a blink of an eye and summer is just around the corner. Since the weather has been amazing, I want to share a delicious salmon salad with you. It’s perfect for that weekend lunch in the backyard and to enjoy with a bottle of white wine and some warm bread and butter.

I got the recipe for my favorite flavored soy sauce, Shiso Garlic Soy Sauce from Cookpad.com. This original recipe created a huge sensation in Japan a couple years ago. This recipe has only 3 ingredients, but the combination of Shiso, garlic, and soy sauce is pretty amazing. I love this sauce so much that I always keep replenishing the ingredients so it’s always ready to go when I need it.

Pork Shabu Salad with Ponzu Dressing & Egg Drop Soup

Today’s recipe is actually 2 dishes, you make salad and you get a free soup! If you enjoy eating Shabu Shabu or like Ponzu, I’m sure you’ll like this salad. Typically shabu shabu restaurants in the US only serve beef slices, but in Japan pork slices are also very popular. Ponzu goes really well with pork slices and it also makes the perfect healthy dressing since very little oil is used.

Ever wonder what the mixture of mayo and ponzu tastes like, well I can tell you it tastes wonderful. Maybe the combination sounds strange to you, but it’s likely you will be addicted to this refreshing taste! Enjoy this crab salad with either an Asian or Western meal. This dish can be prepared 20 min and it’s always very popular when I serve at parties.

Here’s a salad that goes well with Japanese food or other Asian food. This dressing is my husband’s favorite among the different kinds of dressing I make at home. If you like Ponzu (citrus-based soy sauce), you will probably enjoy this refreshing salad!
