Do you eat kale? If you say “what’s kale?”, you are not alone. I’ve never heard of it growing up in Japan, and even after I moved to the States. I never actually ate kale until 2 years ago. I saw many kale recipes on food blogs and one day I gave it a try and I really liked it. I’ve made kale chips and Kale Soup before and this time I made this delicious Kale Salad with Mango.
This Sunday is Father’s Day. As the weather have been warm and nice outside, I thought a BBQ recipe should be in order. I hope you enjoy this wonderful Teriyaki Burger recipe with your family and friends!
Before getting started, I want to let you know that I’m hosting an awesome Japanese tableware GIVEAWAY at the end of post. And it’s worldwide, so be sure to check it out!
I love it when summer arrives; besides the warmer weather it’s also cheery season! My family have been going cherry picking with our friends and their children (five families!) for the past several years. With the fresh cherries we picked, I’ve made Cherry Clafoutis and Cherry Ice Cream in the past, and this year I made these really delicious Cherry Bars.
Clam Pasta or Spaghetti Alle Vongole (ボンゴレスパゲッティ , ボンゴレビアンコ) is one of the most popular Italian pasta in Japan along with Spaghetti Bolognaise (Spaghetti Meat Sauce), Carbonala, Aglio olio e peperoncino (Japanese call it “Peperoncino”), and Spagehtti Neapolitan (I shared the recipe in this post).
My daughter graduated from her preschool 2 weeks ago and this is the final week for my son in the first grade. This post will be the last bento post for this school year as they won’t need bento lunch during the summer break. In addition, we’ll spend quite a bit of time in Japan this summer.
Can you guess what is the most requested sushi roll recipes requested by Just One Cookbook readers? Right, it’s Spicy Tuna Roll, and today I’m sharing this really quick and easy recipe. If you are not familiar with the sushi rolling skills, I’d say this roll is an easy one to start because you only have one ingredient to roll unlike another one of my sushi roll recipes, California Roll.
This weekend is Memorial Day weekend in the U.S. This holiday has a special meaning to me as my son was born during this holiday 7 years ago. Time flies so fast, too fast! Most people spend this weekend picnicking and barbecuing with friends and family, so I want to share this quick and easy BBQ King Crab Legs recipe with you today.
Every weekday morning as my alarm goes off at 6 AM, I try to pry open my sleepy eyes to get ready for the next two hours which are usually the most hectic time of the day. Shower, get dressed, wake kids up, dress kids, cook breakfast, prepare lunch, pack lunch, feed kids, and drive kids to school…
Being a Japanese person living abroad, I often get asked “Do you make sushi at home?”
For the Japanese, when we hear “sushi”, we first think of the most traditional form of sushi called Nigiri. To make great Nigiri sushi, it takes a sushi chef years and years of practice. However, I do make an easy form of sushi at home and that’s Teamki Sushi (hand roll).
It’s already mid-May and coming to the end of school year in the U.S. My daughter will be graduating from her preschool next week and my son will finish first grade in 3 weeks! As summer is quickly approaching, I prepared a refreshing and spicy Soba Salad recipe to share with you today.
