Today I just want to take a moment to say thank you to everyone for being supportive about my blog. When I started my blog in January 2011, this blog was just for me to reference my own recipes and for my friends to grab my recipes that they are interested in. In March I joined Foodbuzz, a food blog community, without exactly knowing what it is (sorry Foodbuzz). Then soon after I find all the wonderful foodies who are visiting my site.
I have been working hard non-stop since January (precisely from end of December 2010). Having two small kids around, I’m limited to sit in front of my computer only when they are sleeping. I always wish that I have more time. Most of my fellow food bloggers will likely agree that food blogging can be a full-time job because it really requires a lot of work. Cooking, taking pictures and editing them, writing up recipes and post, uploading pictures and all that. It really takes me hours to prepare one post (and I’m slow too).
However, it’s worth it to me at the end. I am keeping my family recipes in one file (see, that’s why it’s called Just One Cookbook – for me!) and I get to meet so many wonderful readers around the world! This is the greatest reward I can give myself. I am actually having so much fun getting to know each and everyone of you.
So, thank you very much everyone for taking a few minutes of your day to come to my site. Without you, my website is just like a recipe box on a kitchen counter. Each one of you make my recipe box really special – so really, thank you.
Now I need to catchup some blog awards I’ve recently received from several bloggers. Thank you so much for passing me these awards and I feel very honored! I’m really enjoying following you all. So here we go.
Cooking Rookie from Cook Book of Trial And Error gave me the following Award Galore. She has these amazing beautiful pictures of delicious food, just like art museum! So please go check them out.
Elyse from The Cultural Dish gave me the these awards. Elyse is a great baker and you will see a lot of baking treats there that I don’t share on my blog. If you enjoy baked goods I’d highly recommend you to visit her blog.
Tina from Pinay in Texas Cooking Corner & Mindy from Whiski Business gave me Versatile Blogger Award. I literary met Tina very recently, and I realized we started to blog around the same time! If you like Filipino food then please go check her Filipino recipes! Now Mindy, she is really funny. I love her humor and she always make me laugh when I read her posts or her comments on my site. You will definitely enjoy following her blog as well as her varieties of recipes!
And finally, Manu from Manu’s Menu & Mindy from Whiski Business gave me the following awards. I’ve introduced Manu on my website before, but in case you don’t know her, she makes awesome Italian food, I mean really authentic Italian food. In the US the Italian food are often Americanized so I really appreciate having an authentic Italian food blog to follow.
In the past, I passed on awards to some new baby bloggers so that they can get some nice exposure in the food blog community. However, I have been very busy and haven’t had the chance to discover new one yet. So everyone, please visit these wonderful food bloggers that I just introduced to you. Your visiting time won’t be wasted. In fact you will likely bookmark several of their super yummy recipes during your visit there. Don’t forget to say hi and tell them I sent you. They will be very happy to hear from you.
Now usually/traditionally we talk about 7 things about ourselves. But you have read 21 things about me last month and I can’t think of anything else about me anymore. But then I decided to share one last thing about me – it’s my family. They are my most important thing in my life. My husband has been very supportive and he’s currently the editor of the photography (using software to edit pictures that I take) and doing all the background work on the blog that I have no idea what he’s doing. And my kids – my son will be 5 years old this month and my daughter just turned 3. They are my greatest inspiration to cook delicious and nutritious meals everyday and to make a nice comfortable home environment that they grow up.
Today’s recipe Green Bean Shiraae post is below. Thank you so much for reading my long spiel today. You won’t see me blabbing this much in the future, so don’t worry.
